Disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and Batteries
Legal Basis
In Germany, the disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment is regulated by the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG), which implements the European WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU. For batteries and accumulators, the EU Battery Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 and the German Battery Act Implementation Act (BattDG) apply. As a retailer, we fulfill our registration and information obligations and hereby inform you about environmentally sound disposal.
Meaning of the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol
The symbol of the crossed-out waste bin on our electrical appliances, batteries, and rechargeable batteries means: These products must not be disposed of with household waste. They must be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste and directed to reuse or professional recycling. For batteries, the chemical symbols Hg (mercury), Cd (cadmium), or Pb (lead) may appear below the symbol, indicating the presence of harmful substances exceeding statutory limits.
Return of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)
You have the following free options to dispose of your old device in an environmentally friendly way:
Municipal collection points: The recycling centers and waste disposal sites of your city or municipality accept waste electrical and electronic equipment free of charge. Collection and take-back points are uniformly marked nationwide with the "Electrical Equipment Take-back" symbol. Please inquire with your municipality about the nearest drop-off point; general information on returns can be found on the consumer portal of the Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register at www.e-schrott-entsorgen.org.
Electrical retailers: Retailers with a sales area for electrical appliances of 400 m² or more, as well as food retailers of 800 m² or more who regularly offer electrical appliances, are obliged to take back old devices free of charge. Small old devices (no edge length over 25 cm) will be accepted there even without a new purchase.
Due to its storage and shipping area for electrical appliances, our online shop is not subject to the statutory take-back obligation for old devices. Please use the return methods mentioned above for waste electrical and electronic equipment.
Please note: Remove old batteries and rechargeable batteries that are not permanently installed in the device before handing in the old device and dispose of them separately (see below). Also, in your own interest, delete all personal data on the old device before handing it in; if possible, reset the device to factory settings.
Return of batteries and rechargeable batteries
Some of our devices contain rechargeable batteries. Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. As an end-user, you are legally obliged to dispose of old batteries separately.
You can return or send back old batteries and rechargeable batteries of the types that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our product range to our shipping warehouse free of charge:

In addition, you can hand in old batteries free of charge at municipal collection points and wherever batteries are sold.
Safety notice for lithium batteries: Lithium batteries and rechargeable batteries can catch fire if damaged or short-circuited. Before returning or shipping, tape the poles (e.g., with adhesive tape) and do not ship or store damaged or swollen batteries, but hand them in directly at a municipal collection point.
Our registration
We are registered with the Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register (stiftung ear), Nordostpark 72, 90411 Nuremberg, as a manufacturer of electrical and electronic equipment: WEEE Reg. No. DE 10448850. The financing of the collection and recycling of the devices we place on the market is thus ensured in compliance with the law.
